Gettysburg Celebrates 4th of July with Community Fireworks

Destination Gettysburg is proud to partner with the Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority (GARA) for the first time to host this event for Adams County locals and visitors.

“Knowing that a lot of things are canceled this year, it was important to us to work with Destination Gettysburg to make the fireworks happen.  It’s a highlight of summertime for so many people.  We are going to do it the safest way possible, allowing for social distancing.  We recommend that if people can stay home and watch the fireworks, to please do so,” said Erin Pedigree, Executive Director of GARA.

Gates open at 7 pm. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.  Onsite parking is available at $2 per car. Parking proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club of Gettysburg.  No alcohol or smoking permitted on recreation park grounds.

“We hope this few minutes of fireworks will give us pause, and remind us that we are all Americans,” said Norris Flowers, President of Destination Gettysburg.
